About This Quote

Our father. We have killed him, and we will kill him again, and our world will kill him. And yet he is there. It is he who listens at the door.

It is he who is coming. It is our father who is about to be born. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

was a group of young men who went to assassinate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., on April 4th 1968. These men were James Earl Ray, Thomas Arthur Cyril Smith, David Carl Harvin Smith, and Guy Francis Sinclaire Jr.

They chose to do this because they felt Dr. King was forcing them to become black rather than white like their Irish Catholic ancestors; however, they chose not to murder Dr. King himself for fear that they might be caught and result in the murder of a black man.

The men instead chose a time period when Dr. King would be with his wife and children as a family, not as a single individual who was being forced into being black just because he wanted to be treated as one regardless of his skin color or beliefs.
